Modern witch hunt?
Why do most people cry for free speech and yet when someone says something that bothers you or that isn't Politically Correct, for instance, why Homosexual people like other homosexuals who act like members of the OPPOSITE sex.. a percentage of Answerers on here see to it that people exercising their right to free speech get booted off? I was interested in the above question by "NONAME" I honestly was curious what people thought on the subject and then he got kicked off the site?! because obviously enough people took offense to his straightforward question. He didn't attack anybody, he just asked a straightforward question. It's not like we all don't know what he's talking about. the people out there that took offense-are you gonna tell me that you didn't immediately picture in your mind the kind of person he was talking about? we've all seen it!
Is having to be Politically Correct the latest version of a right to have a witch hunt?

You know I have to agree with DrVic in that people do have a right to be critical and complain, but I also have to say it must be equal across the board.
I mean, just look on Yahoo answers. There are literally thousands of people on here asking questions, answering questions, being mean, nice, funny, stupid, criticizing peoples political affiliation, race, religion, culture, "lifestyle." Some insults are intentional, while others are not. Some people get offended, while others do not. However, yahoo is simply going along with modern societies standard for picking and choosing who should "hang".
There was a guy on here the other day who stated in response to a question on Yahoo and "free speech" that someone had asked, that he was a neo-Nazi and had the same right to voice his opinion as anyone else (Ironically he was resentful of Yahoo's "nazi tactics"...go figure!). Even though I didn't want to, I had to agree with him (with the stipulation that everyone has a right to their own opinion as long as they don't slur or insult anyone..... and then I insulted him).
Everyone does have a right to their opinion. That is in part why millions have died fighting to preserve that right. Unfortunately, things have changed since the turn of the century significantly, and although do continue to change do not appear to be changing for the better. What was once considered wrong, is considered right and what once was considered unacceptable, is considered the norm.
Our rights and freedoms dwindle away while other ideologies of right and wrong are dictated by political correctness and daughnt the multitudes of people across the world.
Not that it hasn't served a pupose. I mean one just needs to look at some of the racist and insensitive comments on here to know that regardless of what your views are on this or that, or on the way people choose to live their lives, some people are just plain meanhearted and callous to their fellow man and woman.
Ironically though, it seems that the majority of the people who want to instill their opinions and perceptions on us are the same ones who cry foul when the perceptions, opinons and ideololgies of others are instilled upon them. The ones who want that sensetivity and respect do (for some reason) think that they are above reciprocating the sme things to others. Those who want tolerance have none of their own to give.
Political correctness came about to aid in the acceptance and "tolerance"of some who may have been unjustly oppressed, slurred, maligned and made to feel less than equal by society.
Now it has become a tool by which a small percentage of people who found that they could manipulate that very just idea (in order to wave their own banner of "oppresion and intolerance") may dictate their own standards of social decorum and censorship in a very insensitve and intolarable fashion.
It would certainly seem then, to answer your original question, that yes, Political Correctness is simply the new P.C. nazis tool to silence the opinions of those who wish to question the social standards that they are attempting to propagate.
And so like the sheep they are, they are so easily led astray.

Freedom of speech includes freedom to criticize. Such is life.
