Do you think winning the HRD will give Vlad some confidence to come out of his power slump?

He only has 14 right now. He usually gets around 35, but isn't even on track for 30. BAck with the Expos he was regularly hitting 40. Do you think this will boost his confiedence for the second half of the season?

Well, Vlad has been slumping in the power department although hitting very well with 75 RBI's. If you were watching the Home Run Derby, you saw that Guerrero was taking pitches and being patient; something that he has changed this past year. Also, I don't think he'll slump after the All-Star Break. Last year's winner, Ryan Howard, had 30 home runs last year post All-Star. Vlad only had two 40-homer seasons actually. He is a great hitter and I believe he will find his bat back.

you know as an Angels fan I don't care if he has 35 hrs or 15 home runs as long as he drives in runs and keeps his average up, make productive outs and starts making plays in the outfield

I know this guy is an one man wrecking machine but small ball requires some amount of self sacrifice...VLAD has definitely done that this year by not taking that many wild swings as he used to and is very patient at the plate now and draws more walks and gives baserunners for his teams to execute small ball to win

As long as Vlad is driving in runs for the angels, we'll be fine

I think it will, but there is that dreaded curse with the winners of the HRD. I do think it might help Maggs, since he went and embarrassed himself with only hitting 2, hey thats more than he's hit in the last month lol.

Most Home Run Derby winners end up slumping in the second half. It's like a curse.

Hitting 40 homeruns twice as an Expo means he made that mark regularly?

well hes a great hitter who know remember what happened to abreu in 2005 he hit 24 and after only hit like less than 5 so we will have to wait and see

  • POWER SLUMP? Look at the past few years (his splits)...He is on pace for what he usually hits in a season.
