I think he will announce in the next two weeks. I honestly thought he was going to announce last week. I think he is just getting all the political teams in order and dealing with the stupid slander stories that the liberal media has used to deter his candidacy. He will announce soon though. He was waiting until the last quarter ended so he wouldn't have to report poor fundraising. It should be anytime soon. As far as running, I can guarantee you he will run.

I think that Fred Thompson is going to announce late summer maybe early fall. He really does not have to rush. The Democrats are chest pounding because they are raising all kinds of money. I think the real Republican money will come when Fred announces. He also might be waiting because of all the others candidates jumped in early and will be running out of money soon. Then he can put his war cheat to work against the evil socialist democrats............

He'll wait for the Hollywood moment: Now that McCain is flaming out we only need Rudy to have another scandal tied to him or Romney to lay an egg and it will look like all hope is lost. Then Fred comes in on the white horse. Savior of the Republican party

I think it will be later this summer.. he has plenty of time ,,,the others started early... Meanwhile Hillary and Edwards get caught trying to thin out the competition .. Fred can sit back and watch them ruin their campaigns

As popular as he is without announcing, without having to hit a heavy campaign trail this early in the game and without having to pay a fortune in campaign funding.. I'd do just what he's doing. Sit back and wait.

    You're correct, though.

Aristide, a former Roman Catholic priest with radical socialist beliefs, was elected president of Haiti in 1990 after a campaign marred by violence on the part of his supporters and featuring promises by Aristide that he would redistribute the nation's wealth to his constituency, i.e., the poorest of the poor. Early on, Aristide was characterizing the U.S. as "the great Satan." In September 1991, Aristide incited his followers to "necklace" his political opponents: "necklacing" is the practice of tying a tire around the victim's neck, filling it with gasoline, and then lighting it.

Death squads acting under the supervision of Aristide's top security aides roamed the streets of Haiti's cities and villages, murdering and beating anyone who dared speak out against the red terror. Aristide and his Lavalas Party tried to rig parliamentary elections, and when the Organization of American States called him on it, the Clinton administration, which had been sponsoring, supporting, and subsidizing him, suffered a major embarrassment.

This is the regime Thompson lobbied for.

Why are Republicans always looking to Hollywood for their candidates?

Source(s): Reagan, Schwarzenegger, Eastwood, Bono, Grandy, and now Thompson.

If he was serious, I think it would have happened already.
