Why are there no European Americans??
Many people call themselves African Americans or Asian Americans - why is this - Don't they feel really American? If it is a proud of ones roots thing then why don't white Americans call themselves European Americans?

Just because one calls themselves Asian or African-American does not mean they don't feel American. The last time I checked, America is a melting pot, right? right. No one is American by ethnicity, not even European-Americans. This is a free world and people should be able to call themselves whatever they choose without people like you ranting about what you feel is politically correct.

Because many white Americans don't like the reminder that they came from other countries, too. They consider themselves the "real" Americans and people they identify as "foreigners" through skin color alone are the outsiders. They think that American means white American.
It works both ways. I hear some white Americans ALWAYS refer to a person's race when discussing them, even if it has nothing to do with the context of the conversation.

For some of us, the list could get pretty long. Imagine if I signed myself as: European-Native-African American.
Or maybe, Irish, German, Welsh, English, Scottish, Native, African American.
