Who's better, in their prime?

i think deep down wat you really fear is a profilic ruthless scorer. i think the 3lions have been missing that... remember linekar, shearer when u just know they are almost worth a goal in the game.... owen comes close but he really havent been the same guy after all the wunderkid perf as a youndgster.... crouchie is not world class in my opinion but the big club syndrome meant he's prob higher up the deck than defoe, lita, bent etc... remember a not too distant past man called hesky?

rooney is the best stake england have in the footsteps of shearer... he's not an out and out scorer but he certainly more than makes it up with his unpredictability and excitement.

lastly... i hope to see walcott up there soon... i think he's the best youngster we have in terms of technic and pace... just worried he might be burnt out too soon like owen...

Shearer was probably the best pure striker England have ever had. Rooney is not at all the same type of player as he plays more in the hole behind a front man. Rooney has brilliance of his own but will never be an out and out striker who scores from anywhere on the pitch like Shearer was.

rooney is not quite at his peak yet - give him two more years.

i'm certain he'll be on par with shearer....

the best striker for england? i think rooney is up there, he just isnt at his prime yet. shearer is definitely one of the greats.
