Wearing Sliding Pants to a Volleyball Game?

Any one has any comment on wearing sliding pants (maybe designed for softball or baseball) to the volleyball game? Would that help (expecially those ds or liberos) when players frequently roll over or side-dive?

Update:

I guess I should specify that it is not to replace kneepad, but to protect hips.

technically, knee pads aren't even needed if you dive right. As long as sliding pants don't get too hot or get in the way, it may be good, so you're not too sore, but you shouldn't need them. If you use the right techniques to slide and dive, you shouldn't get hurt at all. You should start wearing the pants in the beginning of the season (if they don't get in the way at all), and during the season, keep practising sliding with the right technique and keep the sliding pants off during practise to force you into the right habit. However, you may want to keep them on during games so that you don't get hurt in a game enough that you don't play well the rest of the time. Keep in mind that, I wear spandex to vball because anything else gets in my way. Even knee pads get in the way sometimes.

It would be OK to wear if you didn't have anything else, but since they aren't meant for volleyball then it would probably be better for you to wear volleyball knee-pads. If you're a beginner then you should go with the knee pads with the bubble. If you are better than average I would say use then knee pads with little-no bubble.

well it doesnt really matter what you wear. i jsut wer plain spandex. but if you are wearing them to prtect yourself when you are diving then you still shouldnt need them because if you do it right then they arent needed. but i suggest the knee pads are the mos imortant because you need to protect your knees more than your legs...less painful
