Should dogs be allowed to fight if they really want to? Or should we impose our will on another species?
I have never been to a dog fight. How many of you have? or Have you only seen the propaganda put out by the media?

I dated a fella for a long time that loved to see dog fights. We would go hundreds of miles to see a "good" fight. I saw enough to know it was not for me. Dogs can be trained to go to the bathroom and to sit up or roll over. They can also be trained to fight to the death. When grown men bet great amounts of cash on these dogs, that goes way beyond being an animal lover. If left to their own devices, some dogs would probably fight and some would want to have their food given to them and maybe a nice warm bed to go along with it. Is it imposing our will on a dog to make it a member of a family?

Well, do you mean dogs that come from the wild or dogs that we have as pets in our homes?
Dogs who live in the wild fight each other to survive the harsh conditions that nature presents. But the only reason that dogs that we breed as pets fight is because they're owners train them for that specific purpose. If left on their own then yes they would react to their natural instinct to fight for survival but not on a level as high as in organized dog fights.

First of all...these dogs are not fighting b/c they want to....they are TRAINED to fight...they are starved to make the fight even better....and if they dont perform well and are still living they are killed inhumanly....dog fighting is horrific and very violent...and if a person can be that cruel to a defensless animal, just think what they can do to a person!
Oh and I am not for banning dog breeds...I fully understand its all how you raise your animal...my sister has a pit bull that is more a baby then my bassett hound or lab...so its all in how you raise them and treat them!
