Have you ever....?

received the most thumbs up for an answer, but still did not get the Best Answer. I am not talking about like one vote and the Best Answer got none, I am talking about getting like 5 or 6 thumbs ups and the Best Answer not getting any. I cannot remember if this has happen to me, but I am curious.

Update:

addition - There is something you all forgot about. Sometimes an asker will put it up to a vote as well. I have seen time and time again the same thing happening. Some stupid answer gets picked over good answers and the good answers actually answered the question and the stupid answer didn't.

Yes I have. I had 12 thumbs up & the answer picked for best answer had one thumbs up. Go figure!! Doesn't make sense to me, but there is a lot that goes on here that doesn't make sense!!!

Well since the person who asked the question gets to pick in the end, I can see that happening. Just because other users like your answer the best doesn't mean the person who asked will agree.

thumbs up/down is given by the user but the asker only decides who has the best answer

oh yeah, I have had that happen to me before. But then again, when I choose best answers, I go for the one tha best answers my question in my opinion or that amuses me the most.

Yeah, but the person is going to pick whoever they want for best answer.

Yeah, it bummed me out a little. It was one of those questions you answer w/ your heart in your hand. It's no big deal there's always next time. :)
