yesterday i bought a calling card for $1 from a hasty market. and called Pakistan and talked for only 2 mins and hungup. A $1 card only has hardly 3 mins for PAK. but it says that the card has $1 and talk time is 38 hours. now that was shocking and excited. so i called up all my old friends family memebers and talked to them for hours. and when i hung up it still had time in it. finally it got dissconected today. and it does not have any money left in it either. Everybody is scarying me that the company might found out and they are going to sent me a bill. Now was it my fault? i mean i dont have long distance service at home thats why i buy the calling card and use it. but now i am kind of scared. i dont want them to sent me a bill and what if they tell the collection company and my credit will be ruined. what should i do? it can't be my fault they were saying i have that much money in the card and that much time. anyway i hope they wont screw my credit for that.

The card company obviously made a mistake. If the card company is owned and operated outside the US they may either bill you if they can identify you, through your telephone service. If not, they may bill the friends you called, if they can identify them. If they can not identify either, they will eat the charges.

In the event they do identify you, you will probably have to pay for the time you used. I'm guessing here but the card was probably mis-programed and they quite possibly don't know what you paid for the card. All they would see is that a card with all those minutes available was purchased and used.

    Good luck.
