Unsure if my dog is in labor?
She is 61 days today, mini dachshund. She had the temp dip, and didn't want breakfast this morning. Twice today though, she has gone and taken 2 or 3 small bites, then leaves the rest. She usually gobbles it all right up.
She has also been whining at me a lot, and is doing a lot of digging every once in a while. She doesn't seem like she is in discomfort though.
Wow, Elaine, way to go. This is the first and last litter out of my dog, it was an accident, they do happen.
I have had her to the vet, and have researched over and over. If digging was a sign, then gee, she should have had them two weeks ago.
Others might have taken your answer more seriously if you did not turn into a rabid, condescending *** about it, perhaps.

When the Panting starts the pups should start coming within 24 hours she will also have OBVIOUS contractions ( there is no mistaking them for something else )
If she has not passed a pup after an hour of contractions she needs to go to the vet asap!!!

I don't know if dachsunds are different, my neighbors used to breeed and when she was due she would pace a lot and pant constantly, could not get comfortable and cried a lot.
