Caning for Serious Offence?
I got this from a friend (not for those with weak hearts):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eWgYbwNSsU OR
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mLvnoX9MaI&mode=re...
I need all your opinions, if such video should be shown and might make those who are ready to commit an offence think twice..
This is a very open question and please don't be offensive.
Let's be more general.. Assuming we say caning not just for rapist only. Can be for other offences that might lead a person into jail term with caning.
Sarah, I agree with you.
When I heard over my speaker each time the wip touches the fellow, he shouted "Ah Ma".. .. It really makes me wonder how come when he rape the lady, he never thought that such thing can happen to him.

MuhammadLustProphet, I don't quite understand what you are trying to say. As mentioned earlier, this question is not against anyone or religion here.

I think it serves those rapists (sex offenders) and child abusers right... though I strongly disagree on drug offences and those on their trial for death sentence.

Well, there should be more specifications in those 'offences' that you have recommended. Some of those sentences can be plead and caning is not mandatory for them, weighing upon other consequences (as mentioned earlier, though I feel that it should not be recommended for drug offenders ---especially first timers, and those who could also be framed by the police ---MOST of these sentences could be reduced/ plead/ negotiated as some form of solid evidence should be provided before the court ---BUT for those who are with consequential evidence to prove that they have been mugging others or harassing and victimizing the families of others through their related offences SHOULD be caned somehow, don't you think so?).
There are recommendations for caning of errant doctors who perform child abortions, which I am quite neutral towards to (and at times, I feel that they should NOT). In the point of view through religious philosophies, it is definitely wrong in ever way but through modern standards of ethics and the 'norms' of society, it is a necessity for unwanted children (for rape victims who did not made any report to the authorities and those who were not well planned for having children... as the most obvious reason would be lacking in funds or monetary gain to support a legal abortion)...

Audrey, he did NOT shouted 'Ah Ma'... it was 'ALLAH'... why is he only thinking of God when he faces such pain but not during the time when he committed those offences towards mankind?

Did you know there were true cases in Thailand & Africa, where rape victims revenge back by luring horny men & rapist & kill them & some even spread HIV/Aids & STD.
I can still recall very well when my school counselor (who's also a M.D. graduate) told us of a case where a kid gave a show & tell story. (summarized of it were smthg like below)
She wished to be a super hero(in)
She wished she has super powers so she can kill all rapist, molestors & such alike. She would lure them & give them a taste of their own medicine.
She was only 5 & her speech shocked everyone.
Being only 12 at that time, I thought what a twisted lil.gal.
It's till my own friend was raped, strangled & killed by her own boyfriend did truly felt the amount of hatred & disgust growing over me. I ended up hating people especially guys.
That bastard was only sentenced for 5 years! With protection of his lawyer & his "good deeds...he was release much earlier.
So I seriously do not think caning is a serious offence.

I disagree with it. Death penalty for rapists, not caning. Other offences can be deterred with more humane means, and if they can't resist their BDSM fetishes and they have to cane them, they shouldn't do it on the butt. Aren't Malaysians shy people who dislike nudity? Another thing is caning for offences such as overstaying, illegal entry and some other minor things...no need for that. Send them out, that's enough. Because on the other hand Malaysians are crying when their people are put in gaol when they're unable to pay the fine for immigration offences in Saudi Arabia. Double standards? Aha...
And what RELA members do is take away Indonesians' passports and then accuse them of being PATI since they can't prove their identity and that their stay is legal, then RELA gets RM 100 per each "illegal" caught, and some of those illegals might face caning according to Malaysian (in)justice system.

I used to think that rapists deserve caning. But few months ago one moron emailed me a rape video clip. Wasn't able to watch it until finish and I lost interest on sex for more than a week and could only emotionally recover after more than a month. It's simply horrible! I simply can't imagine how the rape victims really feel. Due to this, for me caning only is simply too lenient. What they deserve is to have their thing cut off and caned for 100 times.

No instructor interior the united states could even think of of it, much less attempt to do it. it can be a one way holiday to reformatory, and a extreme lawsuit for cruelty to a toddler. on a similar time as caning won't be this variety of undesirable theory, and that i do believe corporal punishment, the parents must be those to do it, no longer a instructor.

we have been practsing caning since British era but the crime rate getting higher. I don't think this type of caning work effectively
I'm thinking of brainwashing instead of caning or some 'mental correction' theraphy or something like that
MLP,
We can't go back to the 7th century and cane somebody. Can you?

I believe not only that, our whole legal system needed to be modernize to accommodate for current need.
The process also have to speed up to hearing any cases within 1 month NOT more then that.
Some cases has been waiting for more then 10 years but still keep waiting.
