A question for cricket stalwarts @ Maskarahans's sixer ?
In ODI of 5th Sept., Maskarahans hit the ball & Chawla took the catch, he fell down without dropping the ball but touched the fence. It was given a sixer. 3 possibilities.
1) He took the catch, fell down without dropping. So, action is over & batsman is out.
2) He touched the fence so, a sixer.
3) Had Chawla been not there, the prajectory of ball is such that it would have fallen down within boundary, so a 4.
I think it was a four, just like LBW-(had the batsman not been there, ball would have hit the stump). Please give your answer with reasoning. Thanks.

as long as the ball doesn't hit the ground and the ball somehow finds its way over the ropes its a six
It can can happen if a fielder juggled the ball and it went past the ropes or
if like chawla caught it but didn't have full control and ended up touching the ropes
In both examples, the key is THE BALL NOT TOUCHING THE GROUND and the fielder not having full control of the ball

The above answerer is correct.
The ball has not touched the ground within the boundary. The fielder has touched the rope with the ball in his hand.It is as good as the ball touching the rope without coming into contact with the ground.
