I need to attract more clients for my home business.?
I am learning to do gel nails. I need to work from home, as my invalid mother in law needs my help. I moved to this area to help her, so I don't have friends or other contacts here. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

As a professional nail technician and one who has worked from home, there are a few things you may want to consider before advertising your services.
First of all, is your mother-in-laws home zoned for commercial or residential? It you are not zoned for commercial and you conduct business out of her home, you will be fined by the city for doing so. If you are zoned for commercial use, do you have a business license? Have you contacted the State Board of Cosmotology to find out their licensing requirements?
I hate to rain on your parade but once you start advertising, you open yourself up to all kinds of liability. Additionally, if you are the primary care giver for your mother-in-law, how will your clients feel if their services are continually interrupted while you tend to her needs? It will be dificult at best to build repeat customers.
You may wish to consider word of mouth advertising with your husband's family members in the area.

some of the best ways to getting customers to become repeat customers in a business such as yours is to offer a trial service. Especially early on, while you are still learning how to do gel nails, you might offer a free session to entice people to come to you, and then by the time you finish, consider scheduling their next appointment, even if it is only for a regular manicure/pedicure.
Take advantage of the Internet (sites like craigslist, merchantcircle.com and others) have ways of allowing to advertise for free or really low cost, and can reach thousands, if not more, viewers.
That's just my 2 cents, but good luck either way/

I would get your Mums n' law a passport, relocate closer to the Equator, perhaps Central America? You need time for yourself, it's difficult to learn something if you are obligated to care for someone. --- For the price of a "Root Canal" n' Dental work, I've got a whole new "Pearly White Grill" ---- Paid my airfare, stayed in a decent Hotel .........And I no longer have my nails done in "Beverly Hills" - You will need some assistance soon if not yesterday, Seriously .... You will end up closer to your Mums scenario yourself - sooner if you don't or are unable to give yourself a break. ---- If "WE" 50+ people don't address these issues today - Our kids will find "Kennels" - "Convalescent" - "Ambulatory" - "Geriatric Assisted Living Quarters" for us. Let's not forget to take our "Meds" ........ Que Tal? Lagooze'? Te' no recibe' me correo? ---- "Chele' de la Bolsa" -------- Dicer a me. Swanson -- M.

Create online coupons and place them on free classifieds sites in your area, like dollarminer.com and craigslist.com.
Try a buy 10 - services, get the 11th one free, or something like that.
