They gave up....I just watched sportscenter.....they had David Wright on and he said he was "embarrassed" and Willie Randolph said....well, I didn't hear word for word what he said but he sounded very somber like his team lost the 7th game of the World Series. Why does that infuriate me? Because you can just tell that they quit...they even quit a few days ago....there's NO fire in this team. We had control. for about 133 days we had control. But everyone is just crying and accepting their fate. Born losers. I really thought Willie Randolph knew something about winning from all those years with the Yankees.

There is NO fire in this team. Someone should be throwing chairs in the clubhouse....maybe even start a bench-clearing brawl....does anyone remember Ray Knight vs. Eric Davis in '86?...I mean, do something to stir up emotions other than self-pity.

As for the Phillies, they DID what the Mets were supposed to do. That timed with the Mets falling flat at the finish line but Congrats to the Phils and their fans.

at first, asserting Santana is heading in the right direction to win 20 video games this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, while he's barely accomplished that when in his profession is a daft assertion. in case you prefer to be precise, then you definitely ought to take the undemanding of what he's executed because 2003 (his first breakout 3 hundred and sixty 5 days). so which you're finding at a sixteen interest winner, and don't challenge previous that. and look at that, sixteen video games is how many he gained final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, so as that seems extraordinarily rattling precise to me. So enable's evaluate Santana to Brandon Webb. Webb has averaged extra wins than Santana, and has been a much better pitcher over the final 3 years, grabbing a Cy youthful, and ending 2d two times, alongside with a brilliant 22 wins final season (while in comparison with Santana's 20) So we've: Webb > Santana Haren > Pelfre Garland > Maine Davis < Perez i might say the huge sort 5 starters are a wash properly suited now for the two communities. notwithstanding that is undemanding to work out that Arizona has a much extra suited commencing rotation than the Mets. Now once you get to their hitters or their relievers it particularly is a distinctive tale. yet in basic terms starters? no longer even close

It's time for the evil empire to fall, that's all. Oh wait that's the yankees.....well nobody really cares about the Mets, or won't at least until they win a WS.

The wheels fell apart. They ran out of steam like the Brewers. Their lack of depth really was exposed.
