It needs to be placed before you plan to hunt & replenished often so they will become accusmed to coming to it. You may have a hard time keeping the bears out of it.

Deer love apples. Deer love pears. Deer love maple syrup and anything sweet like that. I feel certain it will work just fine.

Do you want to attract more deer to your wildlife food plots? Try planting sugar beets! Deer love to eat both the foliage and the roots and the nutrition is excellent.

probably, next time try a mixture of corn with the syrup. it will probably be cheaper and not stink, rot or attract as many bugs as quick. my hubby fills our freezer with deer every year
