My baby has some blood on her nose?
She has 4 months and has a small cold. We have to clean her nose every hour for her to be able to breathe right. When we cleaned it last it had a small amount of blood in her "snot". Is this normal? I know sometimes it hapens to adults but I think it takes a lot more nose wipping. Did it ever happen to your kid? She doesn't have fever and seems not to be sick at all except for her nose. Thanks for your help. I know it's probably nothing, but I need to be reassured. Yes, it's my first kid :)

it's probably normal but if your doc has a nurse line i would call just in case. as long as its not a lot it should be fine. since she had excessive mucus there is probably extra bloodflow to the membranes thus cause some to come out. HAVe you tried using an unmedicated saline drop for her nose- this helps a lot for my son whos is 6 months. they make a brand that you can find at walmart or teh grocery store calle d" little noses and its for babies it even come with a specailly designed aspirator-good luck

It has happened to my baby most times she has had a cold. If your baby has been sneezing or rubbing her nose it can make it bleed a little because it is so irratated from all the horrible snot.
Since you have said it is a bit of blood in the snot I would assume it is something like that. If it is a bleeding nose or is happening quite a lot you should ask your doctor or health visitor about it.

It does happen with a cold sometimes the mucus sticks and dries on the membranes and it can become moist and it can cause a tear and bleed. I would keep a eye on her . Use little noses nose spray(saline) this helps. I have been there too this is what my Pediatrician told me . Hang in there. Mom of 2 boys.
