When your BBT is high, is your normal temp high, too?

My menstrual cycle is not normal, to put it mildly. But my BBT has been a reliable indication of when I ovulated. However, last week I was away on business and didn't bring my thermometer. Since I've gotten home, my sleep schedule has been quite messed up. Before my trip, my temps were low. Now they are high, but I don't quite trust the readings. Today I took my temp during the day to see if it was normal or not, and it was a little high (I'm usually right on 98.6 F, and it was 99.1). So when your BBT is high, is it normal for your normal temp to be high as well? Or do I have a low-grade fever? (I feel fine, but I did have a nasty cold for a month that I'm finally getting over.)

No, I don't think your BBT and your normal temp have to be correlated. The other day I had a low grade fever of 99.3 and when I woke in the morning, I was back to my normal BBT temp.

If you temped at 99.1 during the day, you have a fever girl. Your BBT only applies to your waking time and no other time of day.

The only way to find out now if you ovulated is to possibly start temping at your usual morning time for the next handful of days and see how those temps compare to past post-ovulatory temps.

    Good luck.

Not necessarily...you can have a low BBT and depending on what you do throughout the day and your stress level your normal temp can get really high.....I traveled afew weeks ago and my temps were all out of whack..unfortunately that was my first month charting too! Ive noticed this month is alot more "normal"

your temp will stay up until your period starts or a couple days after that....the rule of thumb is---if you have 18 days of high temp when first waking then you are more than likely prego. I would wait at least the five days before taking any hpt. good luck and baby dust to us all.

Is it possible you are in your luteal phase and ovulated already? Maybe youare pregnant and thats why the temps are remaining elevated. If you are close to the end of your 2ww, try doing a test.
