I don't want to scare you but I had breast cancer and my nipple began to invert. My doctor said my tumor was located just above and behind my nipple. The tumor began to pull my nipple inward. Eventually my entire nipple inverted. Have your doctor do a mammogram only on the nipple, mine did it. Follow through on all your appts and procedures. I know it scary but knowledge is power. Its not as fearful when you educated yourself on the subject. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

It certainly is not a good sign. If you haven't found any lumps while doing your self breast examination, you could have some thickness or dark shadow which would only show up in a mammogram. This certainly isn't something that you should put off. It could be nothing to worry about, but then again you won't know unless you get it checked out. I wouldn't mess around with that. It sounds pretty scary to me, especially since my best friend had a mastectomy because she discovered a lump in her breast, but put it off for 6 months and decided to get it checked for her new year's resolution, but by that time it had already spread into her lymph nodes. Sorry, I don't mean to scare you, but the sooner you get it checked, the better your chances are to catch it in time if it is malignant. Good luck and God be with you!

hi, you had your mammogram done and had a visit with your doctor.Honestly, dear yahoo answers is a good place for seeking advice but this time your doctor is the best person to decide if it is dangerous or not. if there is a lump. or a mass detected on mammogram,it should be removed and the histopathology should be done, but again, i'll stress you to go to your doctor.

You seriously need to get to the doctor. Intentions in the nipple can be caused by breast cancer. That happened with my aunt and she did nothing about it. She has to have both brests removed. Please go to the doctor!!!
