The entire democratic power of the country is taken away by the military regime and the country's defence forces have to follow whatever the dictator(President orthe Supreme Commander) says.He has the power to order" shoot at sight "in any place which he thinks is a 'disturbed place' due to terrorists or other anti-government forces. The juducial system totally loses its' power and becomes dependant on the dictator's orders.

    The major drawbacks are :

1.The people of the country lose their rights of speech and action and listening to or viewing through TV network what exactly is happening in their country.

2.There can be misuse of power by attacking the neighbouring countries in the guise of eliminating "foreign terrorist groups.

The citizens can take up arms against the rulers like they are doing in Pakistan, there martial law has been going on for five years,, just like in Iraq it was martial law from day one our soldiers kicking in doors of peoples houses , that's why Iraqi freedom fighters have fought us there for years,,, Bush and co are stealing the oil while our troops hold the Iraqi people hostage...to secure the oil only.., its a huge lie we are all victims of a fascist regime.. Hillary is a neocon also like most democrats our country is printing billions of dollars to pay themselves back for there bombs that they loaned us to blow up Iraq,, the dollar will drop in half they will call it inflation.. its dilution ,, printing money..

A state of emergency in Canada (War measures act) immediately makes it like the US on a normal day
