Funny but the amnesty was a Bush plan to start. The Bush administration is still responsible for most of the illegal immigration, and they're still not enforcing the laws against employing undocumented workers. The Democrats went along with the Bush bill, but I don't think they're pushing any plan at the moment.

For the drivers' license issue discussed in the Wash Times article, that's not amnesty, that's common sense. Illegal immigrants are living here for years and years, and it's simply in the interest of public safety for them to have licenses and be required to carry insurance.

By the way, I'm not in favor of illegal immigration at all. I just don't want to get hit by an uninsured, unidentifiable Mexican citizen who doesn't know the rules of the road.

Ok. You really should look at the problem the amnesty proposal is trying to solve. What is your proposal for dealing with the illegal immigrants?

Businesses are able to pay them less and don't have to deal with the consequences. We do. If they are legal then the businesses won't be able to pay them the cheap wages they do now and they will have to provide benefits.

Do you really know what this is about? It doesn't sound like it from your question.

So how are you planning to fund finding, detaining and deporting 12 Million people. Let me put this in perspective. I will use a really foul perspective. 12 Million is roughly the total number of people exterminated in the Holocaust. True we are not talking about extermination, but we are talking about a huge logistical effort, and a huge bureaucratic effort to sort through the people detained. We see news articles all the time about about innocent Citizens mistakenly deported. How many will we see if we embark on a huge deportation Jag?

Is this what America is all about. Not in my opinion!

How can we as a country really believe that we would be able to deport ALL illegals? The funds necessary for a deportation of that size is staggering to think about. And are we planning to send them back to their own countries? At our expense? Plane tickets and bus fare?

I suggest you take a look at your president. He's the one that is all about the amnesty. How else will his rich buddies continue to make big profits if they don't have cheap labor?
