Question from curiosity about messianic prophecies (details)?

Pure curiosity, but as I was browsing around in the website JewsforJudaism.org, I came across a few prophecies that Jews say Jesus did not complete. They are:

"He will rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one G-d "

"He will rule at a time when the Jewish people will observe G-d's commandments"

"He will rule at a time of world-wide peace"

Didn't Jesus refuse to become king when he was here on earth?

So pretty much all these things are supposed to happen when he rules, but he never ruled when he was on earth, so how did he fail the prophecy?

Is there any verse that says Jesus won't have a second coming, and rule after that?

Pure curiosity.

Update:

Jonah put in place the prophecy that Jesus would rrise 3 days after his death. (That is why he was in the stomach of the fish 3 days).

Update 2:

If the apostles didn't expect for Jesus to come again, why would they ask what would be proof of his pressence?

Update 3:

It isn't retroactive, for a number of reasons. First, in the book of Jonah the first verse shows that Jonah is a prophet who would receive the word of God.

Update 4:

Not to mention Jonah is considered a prophet in 2 Kings.

"Does Christianity depend on intellectual and scriptural dishonesty? I should hope not but if you're claiming that Jonah prefigured HaMosiach, there is no other possible conclusion regarding Christianity other than it relies on dishonesty."

Gee, that sounds a little logical fallacy-ish.

Update 5:

"Does Judaism depend on intellectual and scriptural dishonesty? I should hope not but if you're claiming that -Insert name here-prefigured HaMosiach, there is no other possible conclusion regarding Judaism other than it relies on dishonesty."

The question is, why would you come to the conclusion that judaism relies on dishonesty because they say that - Insert name here - prefigured Christ?

Update 6:

I'll add more details in 45 min. going to take a brake.

Update 7:

J.P.: I am back, but if this is going to continue, it will have to be through e-mail or something else. The details are going to be longer than the answers pretty soon.

There is no prophecy of a second coming. None at all.

There is no prophecy that he will resurrect. None at all.

In short -- he will be a normal, if holy, man.

    -------------

The tale of Jonah did not prefigure the Messiah. To claim it does is to intentionally retroactivally reinterpret the story.

Does Christianity depend on intellectual and scriptural dishonesty? I should hope not but if you're claiming that Jonah prefigured HaMosiach, there is no other possible conclusion regarding Christianity other than it relies on dishonesty.

    ------

Yes, the story of Jonah exists in the Bible. But it was not until Jesus claimed it applied to him that anyone considered it prefigurement, and even then only his followers did.

It's circular logic -- which is a form of intellectual dishonestly.

    -----------

Judaism set the standard for the coming Messiah, not Christians.

It's their game, their rules. And Jesus failed the rules. Attempts to reinterpret the rules invalidate the play.

Jesus will fulfill those prophecies just as he fulfilled prophecy regarding his first coming. All Jews believed in and looked for the Messiah back then. Even Herod.

But God never seems to do things the way man thinks and so now there has been a falling away for the most part in the Jewish community. But, we know that a remnant will believe and that Jesus does return to complete the prophecies according to scripture. We also know some other things to look for too and they are shaping up right in front of our eyes. We tend to want to bend and interpret scripture to fit our time table when it doesn't look like things are on schedule. For instance, replacement theology. It's all in Gods time. Remember, the goal is salvation for as many as possible.

Jesus has fulfilled all Messianic prophecies and will fulfill the future ones in the Messianic kingdom. Not one in the past has failed to be fulfilled by Jesus, and not one future one will fail.

Jesus is the one and only true Messiah.

I fairly accept as true with l'chaim, (of the Jews in this submit) by way of fact we could continually help the Jews deliver peace in the worldwide, yet i do no longer think of which would be possible with out humbling ourselves. Even Messiah has had to humble himself (satirically) with the aid of baptism, demise and worshipping and kneeling earlier our Father. Our Messiah is familiar with that being righteous earlier G-d isn't something with out humility earlier G-d. for this reason i've got faith Yeshua became/is the Jewish messiah, by way of fact He did no longer take from all people with weapons of conflict, yet He became one with God by way of fact He became humble and gave. If issues are finished with violence only by way of fact we are proper, or by way of fact we could take eternal justice into our palms and assume there to be peace in the worldwide, then we at the instant are not one with G-d and we won't see our salvation. We could love eachother, even our enemies, only as Messiah taught us... i do no longer see any incorrect way of quite making peace. P.s. how will we be incredibly righteous earlier G-d (one with Him) if we don't humble ourselves and worship earlier Him? in any different case... we would be turning our worship inward in the direction of ourselves and that's delight which seperates us from our proper G-d. could our Messiah do any much less??
