Do you think having proper manners is imporant today in all situations & cultures?

Manners... living w/ them and displaying them in ernest ...is it a way to get back to seeing God ( or your Higher Being of choice) in each other...Manners dictate that we honour the humaness and higher than humaness in each other. Having manners and using them in public places as well as at home is this a way of elevating human kind back to where we may have started? Even if being mamerly only causes life to run a litle smoother isn't it worth it? What if we actually started to acknowledge the blessings in our own life and shared them by sharing a smile- a "good morning!" or holding the door - giving up YOUR seat..".thanks " and "please."..old fashioned? maybe but it can't be much worse...or so it seems.... IT doesn't cost anything and I have found it makes ME feel happier... ..I am gonna give it a real try thank you...SUN

Good manners and courtesy cost nothing , and yet give a lot. Respect for yourself and others.

Noone person has the right to be rude or belittle another person.

Actions speak louder than words, in which if you want good manners you have to use your words, they go hand in hand. The overflow of the heart the mouth speaks and acts.

There is one thing to have manners like please and thank you etc.. it's another when you miss use your manners with and uppity attitude. Like I am too good for this etc...

It's a balance, do what makes you happy. I someone is mean and unkind to you not necessarily turn the other cheek, but keep you manners and distance.

People admire others that keep there composer and their grace. I would not go out of my way for ppl that act like that, but I would keep my good manners and spirits about myself because that is me and it makes me whom I am. Killing them with kindness might just work. It will set a tone, and it will set a presence about yourself.

All in all Love, care, respect, then others will follow.

l guess having manners goes back to our childhood and as to how we were brought up.Manners have nothing to do with religion.ln a lot of ways manners today have gone out the back door.l think teaching children at home and school is the way to bring manners back in todays society.

I think manners are very important, however I do not feel as everyone feels the same. Alot of people seem to be smitten with sloth, one of no manners. It is important because it dictates to us who we are as beings.

I dont think manners have anything to do with God or any god. I think it is just the proper way to behave and show respect to your fellow man.

I take the Ayn Rand approach.

No one deserves to be loved, respected, or honored unless they deserve it.

Myself, I hate people without proper manners.
