I've found recipes on here that I've liked. I'd post them if I save them. But... I would say that I got it from Answers. I certainly wouldn't claim it as my own. That's the risk you take when you post recipes and the like on here. Consider it a compliment... seriously. Also, keep in mind many recipes could end up being exactly the same too, although I'm sure you could tell if it was copied & pasted. I have a pb cookie recipe I've used since I was a kid in the 50's. Don't let that stop you from sharing recipes in the future.

As a chef, I am happy to share all of my recipes, trade secrets, and any advice to those who request it. I take it as a compliment that someone even requests it, and more so if they like it so much they make it their own. Most of the recipes that are out there now, came from someone, somewhere. Imagine how Auguste Escoffier would be feeling if he was alive and knew there is an entire cookbook of his classic recipes, and that very cookbook is a recognized literary reference for the exams given by the American Culinary Federation gives to certify chefs. You should be proud to share something so great.

You should be so pleased that others are sharing your "family" recipe. It must really be a good one! Would you like to share with the rest of us?

Source(s): Loves to share recipes with everyone.

I hear you. It is one thing to pass a recipe along you enjoy, but to post it as your own is just wrong.

I seems to me that allot of people seem to post web links from such sources as allrecipes.com.... so you might want to check there to see if your recipe is there.
