During the Singapore recession in 1998, did many bank branches closed down?

give me some evidence like website or maybe just your personal experience or if memory serves u right :)

    yes. but it was not solely due to the recession but merger. smaller banks grouped together to form big ones in order to be more competitive in international finance, as such branches that were too close to each other were closed down.
