If you want a 5 to 7 foot rattle snake, that would be the Eastern Diamondback, largest of all the rattle snakes. Find them in the South Eastern states,Mississippi, Alabama,Florida and Georgia. They grow up to 8 feet long, head as large as a mans fist. Awesome creatures.

They are pretty common in the south best time to find them would be in the spring, due to mating season. At night they warm up on the high ways. During day time hours they pretty much stay under rocks, or anything to protect them from the suns heat. Now finding a person that sells them, might be hard. However they do hold rattlesnake round ups in the south. That may aid your cause.

there are places you can buy one, if you want to go that route. here are some dealers that sell both captive bred and wild caught rattlers of various species. here are two links:

now if you're looking for for them in the wild, check your state's laws. catching them is illegal in most states, and the majority of states that allow this require a permit. and different species of rattlers live in different types of environments, so research the species in your area. you may try rattlesnake roundups as someone mentioned. and it's probably best to leave wild rattlers alone anyway.
