If you had to choose a book to live by, which would it be?

Any book will do. Please, no cut and paste bible passages. I've read it 6 times.

at this point. None, i havent read one that quite grasps what i would want in a book to live by. I could tell you a movie, or a person <fictional person of course> but not a book at this point. The book would have to involve human compassion, understanding, love, acceptance of all people and their differences, and many other things. So far, i havent read that book.

WALDEN & THE ESSAY ON CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE by Henry David Thoreau. It was originally published in 1848 and has inspired many great leaders of our time. It is a collection of writings by a great 19th century thinker in which the premise is that the individual is the higher power over the state. Rather than the state controlling the individual.

Nothing I could say here could do this book justice!!!!!!

I wouldn't live my life by a book...the reason is that unless you're capable of continuous revision and rewrite the book would loose relevance and meaning over time. Live by the basics set down through the generations in terms of respect, living, and loving. I think we'd be in a better place if fewer folks choose to live by a book. PEACE!

God Almighty created man and gave him the curriculum to lead life in the world through his prophets. Some of the prophets were given a book which were actually the words of God Almighty. Prophet Musa (Mosses) was awarded Taurah, Prophet Dawood (David) was awarded Zaboor, Prophet Eesa (Christ) was awarded Injeel (Bible) and Prophet Muhammad was awarded Quran. May Peace and Blessings of God almighty be upon all of them. Quran is the latest book bearing everything in actual (the words of God). If one reads Quran and seeks guidance from it, he will definitely be successful in all walks of life.

I will definitely choose to live by Quran as much as possible.

It would be the stone tablet book which Moses was given by God on the mountain top. Very easy to read..very easy to understand..very easy to live once one gets used to it.
