Why Ask The Same Question Repeatedly?

Same question asked by one person 6 times, each spaced at 2 minute intervals. This is called spamming, why do people answer instead of reporting this person? I will report people who do this if no one answers the question but, I won't report the asker if someone has taken the time to answer. Please give me your reasons for accepting this when it is clearly against the rules. Either I don't understand the rules or others don't! Please clarify.

In general, I agree with you. I saw an engine additive advertised 3 times in a row. I lodged my first ever complaint.

There is however one other reason, and it may be valid. A person said in advance they were going to post a question several times over the day, as she would get different types of people seeing the question, and a diversity in answers.

This is obviously true. I am in Australia and usually come on at night. So, a question in one of my areas of knowledge would miss me if it was posted 12 hours earlier. This is especially true in some of the categories that fill up a page every 20 minutes or so.

She is basically pitching to different demographics. While repeat posts by the same person (esp more than twice) can annoy me, when I see it over 12+ hours it is not nearly so bothersome.

This is not spamming. The asker may want to reach as many people as possible. He might be desperate for an answer.. He might post it under different categories. Why do you care is someone wants to reach out repeatedly? There are many things that is wrong with the q&a but that is not one of them. Don't worry so much about what someone else is doing if it does not affect you.

Interesting that you don't allow email even though it is anonymous.

Yes its quite irritating more so when its a contact. Could be a genuine mistake or some other contacts answering the question in which case you will be notified as well thus making you think the questioner posted the question more than once. But what really riles me are the contacts that pretend to be fans to gain your support suptlely and then post questions which are polical propaganda in nature.

I truthfully have asked the comparable questions some cases till now and the only reason grow to be to get greater solutions from distinctive people. yet with that I have been given a number of the comparable people in simple terms being @$$es

not only what the first person answered, but what if the person didn't realize they were reposting so many times? i have personally experienced instances online where i thought something wasn't being done and in a haste clicked the button more than once, just to find out i have done something 3 or 4 times...might have just been an error.

There are different categories. Some people just go to immigration or just politics or just elections. So some people who ask questions put them in several categories which all may show up in general government and politics repeatedly.

why ask this question in military? People do not exactly always follow the rules, Is the question in question abusive or dumb?

    Why not?

    When they keep on knocking.

Someone splash the water on them.

So keep on trying until they knock on the right door.

    What do you think?

    Merry X'mas !
