Im trying to burn a dvd from the recorded tv list I have done dozens of them before suddenly it will not rec. the cd-dvd rom I have ck systems- device manager -application recovery- ect...

Thanks guys both good answers but it will work fine on everything else just in media center it will not rec.it to burn a recorded tv program The rewriter works fine otherwise

I assume you are not trying to make a DVD from a file that is copy protected. If you're not, then there may be a problem with your DRM files preventing the copying. You don't indicate if there are any error messages. I suggest you post in the Windows MCE newsgroup for specilaized help.

I have hit ctrl A and copied the file to a folder on the hard drive itself and then recorded the file to DVD. Afterwards I delete the folder holding shift down and this sends the entire file completely out of the PC...skips the recycle bin. Good Luck Johnny

Slow down your speed in which it burns sometimes this helps u should be able to this under the settings of your burning program instead of max speed drop it to 16 or even 4 the burn time will increase but this should fix your issue

Reseat the cables on the burner and try again. It may have just given up the ghost. I've had two burners do this to me in the last year on diff rent machines. One minute they work and the next they don't. One I could just reseat the cable but the other just stopped burning. It would read OK but not burn.
