Do you think that Christmas is a time to forgive those who have hurt you?

I think it's the best time to forgive your enemies or those who have hurt you!

Christmas is a good time, but so are the other 364 days of the year.

In my experience, holding on to hurts that others have done to you is hard to do, and takes a lot of energy. It also poisons you inside. The best way I know of to get rid of that poison before it changes you in some deep fundamental way is to let it go as soon as possible, and forgive the offender as soon as you're able.

So yes, Christmas is great, but if the offense comes at another time of the year, I don't advise waiting and sitting on it--I advise getting rid of it as soon as possible.

Trust me when I say I know about this. An irresponsible woman nearly killed my husband and me on Christmas Day nearly 15 years ago when she ran a red light and hit our car. She was going so fast she rolled her own car. I was incredibly angry at her for a long time, and I didn't know then what I know now, so I nursed that grudge. Now, I find it is nearly impossible to get rid of. I have tried, but I held on to it for so long it became a permanent resident in my head and heart. I hope to free myself from it some day, but I don't know when that will be.

Have a great holiday season ;)

Why wait until christmas- its just another day in the world of forgiveness- forgiveness is something that should come truly from the heart when you are able- not just because it happens to be christmas. I usually end up hurt and xmas and it takes me til easter to get over it!

I think that Christmas would be an especially good time to forgive those who have hurt you. It is also a good time for us to ask for the forgiveness of others for things we may have done or said. ~~~~~

As I walk with Jesus, I don't harbor resentments or anger. We gain nothing by holding on to such things. I don't want these type things keeping me awake at night. Anytime is a good time to forgive & be forgiven. ~~~~~~~

Forgiveness is an everyday affair but there is an air in Christmas that brings out the best in us and we try to release our burdens and seek forgiveness and forgive. It is the reason why the Savior came to us to forgive us by his death and resurrection.

  • Forgiveness is something that can only come from the deepest depths of your soul and should be given freely any day of the year. It is not to be given all willy nilly just because it is a particular season.

Anyone who says that they forgive someone who has hurt them deeply, just because it is a particular season is full of crap!!

Anytime that you can find it in your heart to forgive someone for hurting you is a good time to forgive them.

That's a beautiful thought. Unfortunately true forgiveness takes time.

Any time should be a time to forgive people. The fact its on a pagan holiday shouldn't have any strength to whether you do or not.

I forgive those who have hurt me all the time.

Depending what they did to hurt me in the 1st place.

I will never forgive my father for what he did to my 2 year old son and me.
