Snowmobile accident (rental) need advice?

Snowmobile accident (rental) need advice?

Yesterday I crashed a rented snowmobile into a tree, damanging the susupention, front fairings, right control arms, and front chasie. I was not badly injured in the accident, but left having to pay a bill of $4020.00 in repairs and labor. I signed my life away, of course, before getting on the snow mobile which stated that I assume full responsibility for the damage of the vehicle. The rental place was a unguided trail and the accident occurred while on the trail. They refused to offer insurance. Couple questions?

Vehicle: Actic Cat Crossfire 600

1) Should they assume any reliability as a business that provides a service?

2) Is it worth it to seek a lawyer in this situation?

3) Should I have seeked the value of the snowmobile before paying?

Update:

The estimated new cost that I've seen is around $8000.00

You signed the contract accepting full responsibility. You did have a choice - not to sign it.

You are liable for all damages....The rental location is not.

They don't have to offer insurance (as you signed your life away). Call you auto insurance co. and see if you're covered by them. Mostly just full coverage policies will cover things like that.

Get everything in writing (estimates of damage). Also find out the market value of the snowmobile from an independent source. It doesn't matter how much they paid for it or what the replacement cost is, only what it was worth at the time of the accident (unless of course that was covered in the rental agreement).

Don't be afraid to negotiate a lower price.

ok first of all they have to have insurance to offer you, its your choice if you dont

second because i think they should have offered you insurance just kinda like renting a car

third depending on the age of the snowmobile i would find out that price and the wear and tear and only pay that but not before going to court since they offered you no insurance.
