Question please...?

Our daughter had two pugs... the male licks the female under her armpits excessively, causing chaffing. Why? And what can be done to stop it.

serious answers only. Thanks

hmm..anything you put under there to soothe her..i think would only encourage him to lick more. There is a 'creme' called Bitter Apple. It comes in a spray as well as a creme...maybe if you put it under there...it tastes bad..and he wouldn't lick. I would check with your vet first to make sure it wouldn't irritate HER skin.

    Good Luck.

i wud try putting "vaseline" under the female dogs armpits becuz when the male dog licks it it wont taste very good andit wont hurt him. it will also accually help the female dog becuz if its raw than it will keep dirt out of it , therefor keeping it clean and without infection, and it will also "moisturize the females dogs pits!lol...the only downsid e is that it will be a little bit sticky so if u pik her up it will get on yur hand but i suggest it anyways...wuts there to lose!:P

    That's unusual.

My mother has had trouble with her dogs excessively licking themselves, to the point where they were raw. Finally it got so bad that she started telling them 'No!' or 'No Licking'. That does help.

I will ask though- have the dogs been fixed yet?

    Good luck!
