Can My Brand New Nintendo Wii play DVDs?

I just got a BRAND NEW wii for christmas (today)..but i want to know if it will play dvds!? I dont want to try it though because im scared i will break it and if i break it well its the end of the world!

Please HELP me!

    No. They only play Wii and GameCube games.

    noe no it doesnt but i heard there is a way but it was rele compliacted and u need some sepcial disc drive and other stuff

    No...only xbox and ps2 can.
