Need for speed: pro street on ps2 question?

I'm like 50 percent complete but I've just unlocked the section where i can challenge the kings in showdowns..I was doing good in the drag races with the modern GTO...it's got over 800 horses but now that i'm doing wheelie challenges...I keep losing..I can't clear 300 feet...I need to get real good at that to challenge the drag king...or better yet queen...I hit the Nos....what car tecniques work best for wheelies and is there a car that is real good on wheelies.
