Battlestar Galactica Last Episode Season 3. Final 5 cylons?

We just watched the last episode of Battlestar Galactica Season 3, "Crossroads part 2" where they revealed 4 of the 5 final cylons. Starbuck is back from the dead and we have the Bob Dylan version of "all along the Watchtower" being played over everything.

My question is who is the final 5th Cylon? Starbuck seems obvious. She says she's been to Earth. Is that when she died and was re-born like the Xena-cylon did? Who did the Xena-cylon apologise to when she saw the faces of the final 5?

Opinions?

There is definately a series 4 coming, 22 episodes I think. Basically I'm impressed with the cliff-hanger ending and wondering what everyone else thinks might happen next...

There's got ta' be a way outta' here

Said the Soldier to the Thief

    There's too much confusion

    I can't get no relief.

Sorry, I thought that song was quite appropriate for the ending of that episode.

When I saw the episodes you are talking about. I don't think Starbuck is the last Cylon. It's entirely too obvious. I think she is a trapped soul of destiny. She found Athena' Tomb, she has faced a number of hardships. Starbuck was one of the headliners in the old series and the new one....well until she went a little insane.

All through both serieses there was a harsh overtone of religion. I think Starbuck is the descendant or the venerated embodiment of the 13th Lord of Kobol, the link between the Colonies and Earth. Rather like a short circuited Angel, if you will pardon the idea of making Starbuck a figure of religious iconance.

I would like to think that Number 3, D'Anna was appologizing to Saul Tigh. Out of the 4 shown in that last episode, Sam, Galen, Saul and Tory were on the planet. Granted they all suffered by Cylon interaction, but Saul suffered the most. Tory was nonexistant, Galen and Sam both had their wives taken away- Galen's almost murdered and Sam's broken to the point of being a psycotic, Saul was tortured, had to murder his own wife and led the resistance to a maddening height. Saul was pushed over the edge so that if he is indeed a Cylon he hates himself and will fight to save his world to the last bit. If the Cylon's survival was based upon Saul making a decision....then all the Cylons would be hard pressed to survive past the last word he uttered.

I don't think the last cylon needs to be female as the numbers are all ready off.

    Significant 7

    Brother Cavil

    D'Anna Biers

    Caprica Six/Gina/Shelly

    Sharon Valerii/Agathon Boomer/Athena

    Simon

    Doral

    Leoban

    (4 males/3 females)

    Final 5

    Galen Tyrol

    Saul Tigh

    Sam Anders

    Tory something or another

    unknown

    (3 males/1 female)

    total= 7 males/4 females

There is no need to think that the final Cylon will be female for some crazy mathmatical balance. Maybe the idea goes with normal Christian ideology that men dominate or under the defunct mormon concept that men should have more than one wife (that is if cylons could reproduce) If the final cylon is male that would be 8 males to 4 females. Sounds perfect to me.

Well, the five hooded figures, I thought, were the original Priests of Kobol who built that temple on the algae planet - the one that contained the Eye of Jupiter. From the interviews I read at the time the episode was aired (these may be SPOILERS, but since the interviews are over a year old now, I'm not too worried), the final five Cylons represent these five Priests, in that there aren't multiple copies of them nor are they part of the "hive mind" that the others (i.e. Athena) can tap into. Then again, knowing the show's production as I do, this has probably changed. It's like the thing at the end of the most recent S4 BTS thing - RDM saying "The final Cylon may be revealed in Season 4." Personally, I think the revealed four are Cylons. The degree to which they are, however, I think is wide open. I don't think the final one is Laura or Kara, but I really hope it's one of the Adamas, preferably Lee. Laura and Kara are possibly prophets of some sort, which is more interesting than anything else the show's thrown at us for a while.
