Why are politicians exempt from the Do Not Call List?
Isn't that 100% BS?
supposedly it would violate free speech but that is like saying I cannot murder you because it violates my freedom of religion.
We now have laws saying you cannot harrass people by phone, telelmarkerters cannot call if on list but somehow some stupid recording of Hillery or McCain is perfectly OK and legal as free speech.
Every politician that uses these recordings should have to be beaten with a bat for 3 months straight to earn the right to do this.
Scourge_of_Fascism> Um...No. I refuse to silience my voice because other worship stupidity and hypocrisy
Jesus I> Yeah..I know.... did you not get the idea that I do not believe this is an acceptable exemption?
John K> I do not agree. They are marketing themselves and their services as governmental official/agent. They are basically asking for a job which is marketing their "skills". So I think it is a violation

Regardless of what most politicians seem to think...those freeloaders are supposed to be working...for the people!
They should talk to anybody who takes the time to call them.
The sad thing is, most of them use the excuse that they are too busy passing useless, special-interest-serving legislation to satisfy their financial owners to bother with some American Peasant to spend valuable time (normally already committed to said special interests) yakking with some no-body peasant.
George Washington warned the American public about a two party system. He told us not to adopt one and, of course, we went right ahead and did just that!
He predicted exactly the sorry, inexcusable system we now suffer.
It pi$$es me off, it do!

I agree. It's very annoying. I dont have a home phone, but I donated a bit of money during the 2004 election to the Kerry Campaign, and now they call me all the timeon my cell...well they did.
They were nuts too. They would ask for money, and I would be like "look, I really dont have any extra cash. I'm broke as hell" i really was and still am. then they'd be like "how about just a $50 donationg" i'm like dude...I dont have money for gas and they're like "okay, maybe just $5".
crazy bastards. I told one that I was going to murder his family if they call again. I doubt they took me seriously, but they did in fact take me off of whatever list i was on.

If it bothers you that much, remove your name from the Voter Rolls (stop voting) and they won't call you. Neither will Jury Duty, so there's a plus.

THEY ARE EXEMPT!
They don't have to pay for their own health insurance and they don't have social security taken out of their hefty paychecks, either.
