No...actually some of the atheists are profoundly insightful. They cause me to think, to research, to question my faith... and in the end, I come away even closer to God. To this group, I say "thanks"..

but ...there is a portion who's own maturity level shows through. And to them I say....if this is the only way for them to gain any satisfaction in life, then I'm sorry their heart is so empty. Some are so brazenly brave online, but from the tone of their answers, I seriously doubt they would have the moxy to make some of the pronouncements they do. To those, I say "I'm sorry you lack courage" And to the others, who set out to mock... I say Mock away...ever hear the phrase "you don't get the last word."

But for the most part, I believe there is an even split between mature atheists and the ones who are adults with a pre-teen complex problems.

Most atheists that I've met aren't jerks. This question is interesting to me because, are we ALL not seeking something? Perhaps if an atheists is asking questions about spirituality they are truly looking to learn and grow, perhaps some are looking for an argument or way to disprove spiritual beliefs. It's according to the individual. A truly spiritual person will know the difference, however, a spiritual snob will just judge them immediately because they're atheists.

Anyway, this isn't a "yes" or "no" question...it truly is according to the individual.

To paint all atheists as 'jerks' or 'trolls' simply because they answer with anti-religious rhetoric is to exclude all of those non-atheists (self-professed Christians...or any other religion) from this category. The two are not synonymous...however, there does seem to be a small correlation between those jerks and the intolerance for anything vaguely religious...in a form devoted to the same...curious anomaly indeed!
