I am 31 weeks pregnant and having sharp shooter pains in my vagina...what is this?

I was walking into the store and had a pain, but I thought nothing about it until I had another about five minutes after. But I didn't have another till ten minutes ago. I don't need to go to the er, do I? What is this pain?

I experienced the same thing at about 32 weeks....I asked the doctor about them at my next ob check up and she said that they're normal pains of pregnancy, it could be ligaments stretching or the position and weight of the baby's head (he's turned head down now) pushing against my pelvic bone.

I still experience this every now and then (35 weeks along) and I smile because I know that it's just my little rascal causing me pains already!! :)

it could be many things that was around the time I had lots of cramping in my lower areas....my dr told me that they were normal...could be ligaments stretching....and that area starting to prepare for the birthing process....if you have do abnormal discharge and the pain does not increase you are probably good to go....get some rest and if it keeps up i would get checked out just to be safe.....i am at 37 weeks now and the past 6 weeks have been full of different types of cramping and braxtin hicks.....i am so ready to have the baby out! good luck

  • I had this exact same thing happen to me the 18th of this month. I thought it was in my vagina, turned out it was in my urethra, and had a UTI. Good luck

if you are still having sex that could be it because i was in a similar situation and the doctor put me on pelvic rest. (that mean no intercourse)

You should call your doctor. You may have to go in or have an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok.
