    Good question. Like the other "limits" on drugs in ACLS, I'm guessing the magic number was derived from a combo of consensus & theory. There's likely not much evidence that it would do any good.

    As for the first answer, "putting the patient into shock & myocardial infarction", the patient is already technically DEAD, likely FROM an MI.

    You will overload the heart and put the body into shock, and Myocardial Infarction.
