Dry carrots are used as a source of vitamins and as a filler in some commercial dog foods; and cooked carrots are a common ingredient in homemade and gourmet dog foods. Raw carrots are great for a dog's teeth because of the chewing action--helps remove some of the plaque build-up. And a lot of dogs seem to like them. Some dogs are sensitive to carrots and may show problems like stomach irritation or diarrhea. If your dog doesn't have these problems, and enjoys carrots, one or two baby carrots or about two-three inches of a regular carrot cut in slices per day as a special treat would be good for a 10-15 lb. dog. Add a baby carrot or an inch of regular carrot for every 10-15 lbs more that your dog may weigh.

My dogs lovelovelove carrots! I give them baby carrots, and honestly ... you'd think I was giving them steak!
Veggies are great for dogs. Carrots, broccoli, green beans ... some fruits, too (apples!)
I use carrots for treats, and both my dogs think they are the best thing ever!
Your dog is, hopefully, eating a nutritious food, right? If so, the carrot should be just a treat ... so, no more often than you'd give any other treat. But a fresh vegetable is much more healthy than a commercial treat ... so, I don't think you need to worry too much about overdosing your dog on carrots!

My dogs love carrots too! I don't think there is anything wrong with giving a dog carrots. The only things I've heard they shouldn't have are grapes and chocolate.

If he gets well balanced meals there won't be any need to feed him carrots. He is only eating eat it to supplement his diet (same as when dogs et grass). When he doesn't feel like carrots anymore he won't eat it so you can give him as many as you want BUT check whether his regular food got all the necessary ingredients

Raw carrots are very good for dogs. They really enjoy the baby carrots as they are easy to manage. A good tip given to me by my vet is to freeze baby carrots to give to puppies when they are teething. I give my pup 2 to 3 baby carrots daily.. I wouldn't feet more than that, will give her the runs.

dogs love carrots,
i give mine the little baby carrots about only three or four... but she is a small dog (chihuahua) and not every day.....
good question because i really do not know, how many becomes too many....it would be nice information to have because carrots are cheap and my dog goes nuts for them....

I think one a day can't hurt. I'm not a vet though so I'm not positive. You should ask your vet for the best answer.
