the word yahoo is Jonathan Swift's creation in the book Gulliver's travel.?

the yahoos were humans but crude. how did this yahoo on the internet got its name.after reading the book then, i some times call people with bad conduct yahoos and that was long before anything internet started

    Im sure YAHOO was used as a word before the writings of Gullivers Travel.

    Yahoo "a brute in human form," 1726, from the race of brutish human creatures in Swift's "Gulliver's Travels."

    Later the term became used in the hollywood western for desperados and others of such ilk. As we watch those know, as with many older words, we find them 'quaint' and thus the original meaning is adopted to something else, softened in original meaning, or corrupted into a totally new meaning.

    Language is always evolving, maybe they had a chocolaty drink in mind when they chose it but spelled it with a typo?
