151 rum equals how many beers?

General rule of thumb:

1oz shot of 80 proof liquor =

5oz glass of wine =

12 oz beer

Of course the alcohol percentage of wine and beer differ slightly so this isn't a scientific equation... just intended as a rough estimate. That being said, 151 is roughly twice as strong as the normal 80 proof shot so it would be equal to two beers.

Factor is the psychological elements of shooting something that burns on the way down, tastes like rubbing alcohol, and may or may not be on fire (not recommended) along with the fact that you are shooting it all at once versus the slow drinking of beer or wine... and the effects may present themselves much quicker than two beers would.

It depends on what kind of rum, is it a shot or a mixed drink of rum, what kind of beer? lager? ale? malt?
