i went to the doctor on wedsneday as i had pain in the lower abdoment and was told my cervix is softened and should go on labour soon.(she said maybe a week)i've been having a lot of white, waterly discharge in the last few days but i understand that it is normal when im 37 weeks pregnant but since yesterday, ive been getting thich slimy discharge as well which is worrying me.it's not a lot either but yesterday was completly clear and slimy when i touched it (like egg yolk)but today,i noticed a discharge that was a lot thicker and non-clear(yellowy) and very sticky.could this be my mucus plug??or a sign that labor is close?

Probably your mucus plug. You will probably go into labor in the next couple of days. If you are in doubt just call your doctor, that's what they are there for.
Good Luck

Your cervix is thinning out and that is what you are seeing. I started to see the mucus when I was about 30 weeks and didn't have my baby until 40 weeks 3 days.
When you loose your plug you should have some blood that comes too. I thought that I started my period but I was also in labor too.

Most likely you are losing your mucus plug slowly... happens to a lot of women, which is the reason why so many don't realize they ever lost it. It's okay. Even after losing it, it could still be a few weeks before you go into labor. Don't get too anxious yet.. just try to relax (although I definitely know it is difficult).

It could be your mucous plug. I have had that on and off for the past few weeks, but I haven't gone into labor yet. If it has pinkish or reddish colors in it, I'd say labor is close, but the yellow/clear stuff is pretty normal.

Sounds like its the start of things for you. I would certainly make sure my hospital bag was packed and ready, and have a note of the relevant phone numbers close by from now on!
Keep a change of clothes handy in case your waters break before labour starts.
Best wishes for a happy event in the next few days!

It could be your mucas plug but they usually have a pink or blood tinge in it. Just rest as much a possible as you could be doing some hard work real soon! All the best!
