What kind of dog...?
So I was watching the movie "The Lake House" and I was wondering what breed the dog (Jack) was. Short, stringy looking hair (like choppy/wirey/fuzzy-ish), tan'blonde in color (sometimes with white feet) and meium height with a lean/lanky build. They're adorable and are about to replace the Boxer as my favorite breed. Any websites/pics would be great as well as the name of the breed. Thnx!!!
I do intend to research the breed before I purchase, if I even purchase at all. I was just wondering what it was. No need to get upset!

I did a google search and found the dog in "The Lake House" is a Wirehaired Portuguese Podengo Medio, and is not the same dog from "Because of Winn-Dixie". Here's where I found it.

If you scroll down, to The Hollywood Podengo section, you'll find it there.

Frankly, it is very foolish to base your selection of a dog on a movie. When 1001 Dalmations came out, they became wildly popular -- and were dumped in kill shelters by the thousand after people realized what active, demanding dogs they can be.
The same happened when an Old English Sheepdog was the hero of a movie before that - not for everyone, high maintenance dogs, and people got them for their looks and couldn't deal with them.
Please be sure to learn all about a breed, requirements, traits, personality traits, before even thinking about getting one.
Movies are fiction, the dogs are usually unrealistically portrayed and any dog you get should be loved all its life and not be a fad or a fashion statement.

I can't find any reference to the type of dog and there are 180 photos to check through if you have the time.

This dog?
Well, my only guess is that maybe he is part Berger Picard (but that's just a wild guess)...I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if the dog wasn't a purebred. It was really hard for me to find a picture of him though. That was the only picture I could find, and I didn't see the movie.
