- Do not use your nails as tools. Do not use them to pick or scrape, and things of that nature.
- Take a daily multivitamin and get enough protein. If you get all the right vitamins and you get a good amount of protein you're prioviding the building blocks for strong, healthy nails.
- Do not use acrylic nails.
- Apply a nail hardener like the one by Sally Hansen weekly.

I know the best way, I know it may sound stupid, but dipping your fingernails into a bowl of ice cold water for about maybe 3 min. See it's much easier and cheaper than if you bought one of those nail hardeners. I would say it's as easy as 1, 2, 3, but it's not! It's much easier!!!!!!! Only 2 steps: 1. fill a bowl with water and ice 2.dip your soon-to-be-hard nails in for about 3 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope I helped!

Gelatin! You can get this by eating jello. My mom used to mix a gritty solution into water (eww) and drink it.
You can also get vitamins at GNC that have a mixture of components that are good for both your nails, hair and skin.
