Trying to reinstall Sims2?
I'm trying to reinstall the Sims2 on my computer but it keeps telling me
"A problem occured when trying to transfer the file TSData/Res/Sims3D/Sims09.package from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancell the installation?"
The first time I tried, I retried a few times, then cancelled and started over. Now it's doing it again. I've retried a few times. The percentage installed keeps going up (slowly) even though it's having this problem transfering and it's at 48% so I really don't want to start over. But I doubt it's going to finish if it's having this problem. Can someone tell me what's going on and how to fix it?

This same thing happend to me the last time I re-installed mine. I thought the disk was ruined and that I would have to purchase a new one so I stopped. A few weeks later I tried again for like the 5th time and it installed all the way through. Now I understand that it's annoying and you don't want to keep re-installing your game, especially because I know how long it takes but it worked for me. If you go on to thesims2.ea.com and post your same problem in the BBS section (the site forum) then someone will be able to help you. Someone gave me a link to doing a manual instillation. It takes a bit longer but there won't be any problems like your having with it.

Download it on another computer-that's the best i can do for you. when that happens to me, I check and see if i still have it on my computer. Check under 'set programs access and defaults' on the start menu, and look under 'change or remove programs' for Sims 2.
