Ethernet-Wireless Setup Question?
Running Windows XP, I have a computer connected to a wireless network. It is right next to my XBOX 360. Is there any way I can connect my Xbox to my computer via the ethernet cable and link it to the wireless internet connection through the computer? I really want to avoid buying the wireless adapter if possible.

You should be able to by hooking it to your computer via a Ethernet cable and windows should guide you through the setup procedure with a found hardware wizard . I don't play computer games but it should work . Windows also can give you a connection through the connection wizard in the control panel .

You could take a ethernet cord plug it in to Xbox 360 and then plug into a modem or a router that has a working connection

Simplest thing you could do would be to get a router. Your modem only gives out one IP address to be used. Using your computer and Xbox at the same time will never work. That is what a router is for.
If you want to share your internet through your computer, check out AnologX Proxy. I have used that for years until I got a router.

Install that on your computer. It will share your internet. I myself have never had any luck with the Windows ICS.
