Real satanist?

There are a few types of Satanists. It breaks down kinda like this:

1. Theistic Satanists. People who actually believe in Satan as a god/deity/force.

2. Hedonist Satanists: (like Anton LaVey's Church os Satan). They use the Satan METAPHOR to represent carnal pleasure, freedom, etc. They may or may not actually believe in Satan as a deity, or in the Judeo-christian theology/ God.

3. Pissy Teenagers who use "Satanism" to aggravate their parents.

#2 and #3 are (sometimes) atheist Satanists.

La Vey Satanism uses Satan as a metaphor for self ....

very few Satanists ( from various groups ) actually believe in Satan or God...

those who do , see Satan more like the Pagan God Pan and believe Christianity to have demonised him

so they dont even see Satan as the " baddie "

so there is nothing evil about them

and you ask what is the point of an atheist calling themself Satanists ?

well what is the point of Buddhists ?

they are atheistic also

There are 2 kinds of Satanists, Theistic Satanism (the one your referring to that actually worships the biblical Satan) and LaVeyan Satanism.....

Theistic Satanism and LaVeyan Satanism are worlds apart from each other and have totally different belief systems. I don't have time to explain LaVeyan Satanism but it simply uses the concept of Satan as a metaphor, so it is not mutually exclusive to Atheism....

Then there are just the stupid christians that have a messed definition of atheism, that believe we are doing the work of the devil or something ridiculous like that.....

They use Satan as a symbol for the things that is wrong with religion. It is also meant to mock and belittle religion.

Basically they do it to piss you guys off.

No, you are wrong, Atheist do not belief in any kind of gods.

And satan is like a bad kind of god for xians, it's an xian thing, not an Athiest thing.
