Are there any free sound recorders for windows (for internal sounds)?
I want to know if there is anything that can record sound that my computer is playing, because there are some video recorders (for how tos and stuff), but they don't include sound (don't worry, this isn't for anything illegal, like pirating music). I would like to know if there is any decent program that could record a wav or mp3 file from internal sounds, not sounds picked up via microphone.

You could download Audacity, a free, safe, and legal program that allows you to record anything that it hears. Example: you opened a youtube video with a song on it. you turn recorder on, press play on the video, and youll be able to record the song thats on the youtube video. Heres the link: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows
If you have a Windows Vista, it might not work. I have a Vista and it doesn't work :( but it worked on my friend's compaq.

A good and free screen capture program like Fraps, Camstudio or HyperCam can record audio as well as video. After recording and saving it in movie format, extract the music using any free media converter like the free Any Video Converter or Format Factory and save it as mp3.
