My 6 month old puppy has started marking the house. He is scheduled to get fixed soon.?

I will most likely help some, but I agree it's generally most effective when done before he starts marking.

Make sure you clean all marked areas with a cleaner specific for pet odor - the enzymes in those cleaners will take the scent out deep down, and an ordinary rug or household cleaner won't. If any trace of the scent remains, you dog will be drawn back to that same place to mark again. They sell these cleaners both in the grocery store and at pet stores. They are very common.

Otherwise, make sure you are watching him like a hawk and telling him no and stopping him every time he marks in the house. Be very consistent and watchful, and eventually he will pick up on your rules!

    Good luck!

My 7 month old is not fixed yet and he isn't fmarking in my house. Do you have a female around? I think he needs to be re potty trained.

It will help, but ideally a dog should be neutered earlier than that to prevent the habit from forming.
