i got a question that i cant find the answer to. im hoping you can help. well, me n my boyfriend have been together for almost 3 years and we have two kids together and one from my previous relationship. he has been raising her ever since she was 1 year old, COULD HE CLAIM HER ON HIS INCOME TAX? since she's not biologically his and we're not married i was wondering how it worked. PLEASE HELP ME WITH ANY ADVICE U HAVE, THANX!...by the way, i dont think he'll be able to claim our second daughter together...she was born in october. but plz...any advice!

    Youu must be a biological father, or a one who has adopted the child legally, OR be able to SHOW conclusively that you have provided at least 50% of the childs finacial support in the year you are filing for.

    This LAST hurdle is NOT an easy one so I would NOT even attempt to go there.

    And of course, ALL claimed exemptions must have a valid Social Security number.

    as long as her biological father doesn't claim her he can and he can claim your second daughter as long as she was born in 07 it doesn't matter if she was born on the last day of the year just as long as it was this year.
